So, your sweet baby is turning ONE soon! Many of my clients love to do a cake smash session in my Windsor, CO studio for their child’s first birthday portrait session. These are some of my favorite sessions to create for my families because it’s really a celebration for everyone. Your baby is turning one, and you’ve now been a family for a year. Here is what to expect during your cake smash session and how I make it as stress-free as possible for my families. Planning Your Cake Smash Session When it comes to planning your child’s cake smash session, you just need to answer a few questions for me, and then I take it from there! 1.) Make Sure We Like Cake - I need to know if your little one has any food allergies. I highly recommend that your baby tries a little cake before the day of the session. I know that part of the fun is their reaction to a cake, but trust me, letting them try some before is a good thing. They’ll still have a delightful reaction on the day of their session. Hey, we can get creative with the dessert as well. This little sweetie had a donut smash! 2.) Plan the Session - We discuss your theme for the session. What does your child love? What do you envision for the session? There are so many options! I’m happy to provide guidance if you need it or take your idea and run with it. 3.) Ordering the Cake - I handle the cake part for you. My amazing local baker Edible Delights CO, always does a fantastic job with my cakes. I let her know what we discussed, and she handles all of the designing and complimenting of the sets. It’s always a huge hit! Day of the Cake Smash Some families like to do their cake smash session a few weeks in advance of their child’s birthday, and some like to do it closer. It’s totally up to you. On the day of the session, you’ll bring your child to the studio, and I’ll have everything else ready. You don’t have to worry about anything! All of the decor, the cake, and the wardrobe will be ready and waiting for you. You’re welcome to bring your spouse and other children to the session as well. It’s fun to document the entire family’s excitement and capture a portrait of your whole family. The session truly is a lot of fun documenting your child during this special milestone and capturing their reaction to the cake. Some kids love it, some kids aren’t so sure about it, and some REALLY love it. All reactions are so cute and perfect for photographs. Cake Smash Sessions | Windsor, CO Cake smash sessions are some of my favorite sessions because they’re just so special and sweet. I love using my creativity to design your dream cake smash session without you having to lift a finger during the process. As a mom of three, I can confidently say that it’s really true what they say… our children grow up right before our eyes. My youngest will be starting preschool this fall. I can’t even believe it. So many families reach out to me to take their photos because they realize how quickly the time is going with their children. Some clients wonder when it’s the best time to take family photos. If you’re on the fence about when you should schedule your family photo session, I offer you five reasons to schedule them now below. 5 Reasons to Schedule Your Family Photo Session Now 1. Beat the Fall Rush - Lots of families think about taking photos in the fall. It’s a new school year, the holidays are coming, and you need an official family portrait for the Christmas card. However, taking your family portrait in summer or even spring can be perfect for your family. Fall tends to get really busy with school, sports, and everything in between. Summer tends to be more relaxed for families. Plus, you’ll be able to beat the fall portrait rush. 2. Photos with Your Children - As moms, we are the memory-keepers of the family. We are the ones dutifully taking photos, writing in their baby scrapbooks, and managing our families. What’s missing from all the photos you take of your children? You! You are missing from the images. Professional family photos ensure that you are in the photos with your children. They will treasure these images forever. 3. Portraits are on the Wall Sooner - Maybe you have a blank wall where you dream of hanging a family portrait. Maybe you want a family gallery wall but don’t know where to start. My full-service family photography process takes care of everything from start to finish, including designing, printing, and displaying your family portraits. The sooner we schedule your family portrait session, the sooner your dream portraits are on the walls! 4. Studio Portraits - We truly can’t depend on the Colorado weather. Yes, we live in a beautiful area, but things happen. You can feel confident scheduling your studio family photo session because we won’t need to reschedule due to the weather. We can find the perfect time for your busy family without worrying about the weather! 5. Don’t Wait Until… - There are so many reasons to wait for family photos. You might want to wait until your child’s braces come off, your schedule calms down, you lose those last 5lbs, etc. My advice is not to wait. Your family is absolutely perfect, just the way they are right now. You’ll never regret taking family photos. Your children think you’re perfect now. They’ll never look back on portraits and think you should have lost 5lbs; they’ll just treasure the photo with their mom. And you’ll love the photo of your child in braces. It’ll freezeframe this sweet moment for you to look back on over the years. Every time my children reach a new milestone, I can’t help but feel happy and sad at the same time. Happy that they are growing up and sad they are no longer my baby! Once your sweet baby is born, you’ll be amazed at how fast the time goes. Baby goes through so many changes throughout that first year that you’ll blink, and your baby achieves the next milestone. This is why I love it when clients come to me for milestone photography. We can capture each of the major milestones for you so that you know they’re being documented and preserved. You’ll always have these images to look back on and remember each sweet moment from that first year with your baby. Let me share a little more about which milestones you might want to document and the three surprising benefits of documenting them. Baby Milestone Photography Newborn - Your child’s first official portraits are usually captured within the first two weeks of life. Newborn photography documents how tiny and precious your sweet baby was right after birth. You’ll look back on these and be in awe of your tiny baby. Six Month - Around six months, your baby will learn to sit up! These sessions are extra adorable because now baby has those chubby cheeks, wrist rolls, and will smile big for the camera. Every baby develops differently, and it’s such a joy to document what milestones your baby has achieved. 1 Year - First birthday portraits and cake smashes are always a blast to document! We’ll celebrate your baby’s first birthday with a custom session that tells the story of your baby’s first year with a memorable photoshoot. 2 Years - By two years, your child is officially a toddler! Two-year-olds are so fun to document as they are so curious about the world around them and are starting to really show off their personalities. Any Milestone - Don’t let this list hold you back. Every milestone in your child’s life is worthy of a custom session. Here are a few other milestone session ideas;
You’ll never regret taking milestone portraits of your child. Now, let me share three surprising benefits of documenting your baby’s milestones. 3 Surprising Benefits of Documenting Your Baby’s Milestones Peace of Mind that Milestones are Documented - Your baby will grow fast during her first year of life. Between taking care of a baby, your family, your job, and yourself, you’ll have a lot on your plate. Professionally documenting your baby’s milestones throughout that first year assures you that you will have portraits of each one. Tell Your Baby’s Story - Capturing each precious milestone for your baby means you can create a custom heirloom album that features each milestone session. You’ll be able to enjoy looking back on your baby’s first year as your child grows up and, eventually, pass their album onto them to share with future generations. Cohesive Portrait Artwork - Documenting each milestone with the same photographer ensures your portrait artwork will look cohesive and look beautiful. As a milestone photographer, I plan your sessions with the end in mind of how you want to display these portraits. That way, you’re sure to love the final portrait artwork that you choose.
I can’t slow down your baby’s first year for you, but I can capture and preserve your memories of each precious milestone. You can feel rest assured that you’ll have cherished portrait artwork of your child to remember each wonderful stage. On the days you feel like your baby is growing too fast, you can look back on your artwork with a smile.
If you have any questions or wish to schedule your consultation with me, please send me a message here. Your portrait artwork will hang on the walls of your home for many years to come. You deserve a beautiful and uplifting portrait experience that your whole family loves and results in cherished portrait artwork that will always make you smile. The more relaxed and connected you feel during your session, the more beautiful your images will be. If you’re thinking about scheduling a portrait session, you might be debating whether you want an on-location or a studio portrait session. Here, I offer seven benefits of a studio portrait session and why this type of experience is right for you. Why Choose a Studio Portrait Session Total Privacy - In the studio, we don’t have to worry about dealing with crowds or people staring as we take your portraits. Even your most camera-shy family member will be able to relax and enjoy the session. Optimal Lighting - The studio has professional lighting, so we don’t have to worry about finding the best sunlight or avoiding shadows. This is helpful when scheduling sessions around your busy schedule or even naptimes. Flexible Scheduling - Because we don’t have to worry about scheduling around optimal sunlight, we have more flexibility in scheduling your portrait session. Instead of chasing the golden hour light, we’ll have the perfect lighting at our fingertips. Timeless Aesthetic - With our classic backdrops, you’ll never have to worry about your portrait artwork looking out of style or season. The studio backdrop offers a timeless look that will look beautiful on your walls for many years to come. Amenities - We don’t have to worry about finding a location near a bathroom. The studio offers a comfortable space for the family to take a break and has a bathroom nearby. Every member of your family will feel cared for and welcomed. Activities for Your Children - One of the biggest worries from clients is how their children will handle a portrait session. At the studio, I have activities to keep your children occupied and happy throughout the day. We have special toys, coloring books, and other activities for them to do while we capture different portraits. Windsor, CO Studio Photographer Let’s take a beautiful moment with your precious family and turn it into cherished portrait artwork that will hang in your home for decades. The truth is your children are only this little once. We can’t go back in time, but we can create timeless heirloom artwork that you can always treasure. I’d love to answer all these questions and more so that you have your dream maternity photoshoot and artwork that you’ll enjoy forever. When Should You Take Maternity Photos? How It All Started!
This chiropractic team is made up of two doctors. Dr. Tiffany and Dr. Toni. Together they have 14 years of chiropractic experience.
Dr. Tiffany started chiropractic schooling as a result of a sports injury she incurred when she was 13 years old. She had tried everything to get back to playing sports, but nothing seemed to be working. Then she tried a chiropractor and not only did it help her, but it also gave her hope that one day she would be able to play again. From then on, she wanted to be a chiropractor and help others get back to good health. Though she had originally wanted to do sports chiropractic, she changed her mind during schooling when a few of her fellow students went to some break-out sessions that dealt with maternity and babies. Listening to the speaker had her wanting to completely change her direction. She learned that she would have to do extra schooling to be able to work on expectant mothers and newborns. She decided to take on some extra courses at the same time to get all of the certifications needed. Dr. Toni is also a specialized pediatric and prenatal chiropractor at New Beginnings. Her chiropractic journey started at an office in Manassas, Virginia where she fell in love with chiropractic, movement and helping others live their lives fully! Dr. Toni believes that “movement is medicine. Everyone deserves to be able to have the ability to do the things they love free of pain and discomfort. The goal of chiropractic care is to guide patients on their wellness journey to functioning better in all realms of health. It is not the doctor that heals the patient, but the patient that heals the body. Why and When Should You See A Chiropractor?
Did you know that seeing a chiropractor as an expectant mother can significantly lower the risk of needing extra help during labor? Yes, it's supposed to help lower the need for intervention. Studies have shown that it also helps to make labor shorter. Seeing a chiropractor during pregnancy can also lead to more comfort as you are holding all that extra weight. At New Beginnings Chiropractic they also provide pregnancy taping and teach you how to also do it at home! The best time to schedule a chiropractic appointment would be as soon as possible before you get into crisis mode.
Birth itself can be a traumatic experience for the body for both mom and baby. They can help with your postpartum recovery. For the newborns, they also go through some stress being born into this world. Having chiropractic care can help with newborn sleep, constipation/gut issues, torticollis, and even latch/breastfeeding help. They tell expectant moms to make sure and book their new babies ahead of time since they like to see them 2 weeks after birth. They do always try to accommodate babies as soon as they are born. It is important to take note that whomever you book for your pregnancy, that they have been certified in the Webster technique to be able to properly work with you. Upcoming Events to Check Out:
